Leadership of Sales into FTSE 250 Companies
My client is an established managed IT services provider working in the cyber security space. They are experiencing rapid growth, driven both by market conditions and also their unparalleled delivery capability and innovative technologies. This company operates at the leading edge of their sector and has a proposition that has proven to be compelling to FTSE 250 companies. Due to their expansion they now wish to hire someone to lead the strategic development of their new client acquisition activities.
The Head of New Business Sales will be responsible for the leadership of a team of around eight staff, working across a variety of sectors. He or she will work closely with the MD to set strategy and commercial policy, drive the strategy through the business and become engaged in key client activity, leading the line to create a successful sales team. The Head of New Business will grow the sales team and ensure that it is fully trained and motivated. In addition, he or she will play a key role in ensuring that the company grows in a structured and sustainable way.
The successful candidate will have solid sales leadership experience gained in a high growth, managed IT services environment. He or she will be familiar with formal sales techniques such as Miller Heiman, SPIN or TAS and be able to adapt the team to use the best technique for a particular opportunity and to work in a highly collaborative fashion. A good intellect is required, as is an interest in global affairs and how they impact on the market. Above all we are looking for a business creator, used to working in an environment where the landscape is changing rapidly and the opportunities presented constantly evolving.
